For this years christmas card we got away from the computer and had fun with a totally in camera effect.
In photography, bokeh is the blur or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image, or “the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light.” Â Bokeh is often most visible around small background highlights, such as specular reflections and light sources.
Since bokeh takes on the shape of the cameras aperture, you can easily modify this shape by placing a stencil in front of the lens.
Each frame of our christmas card was taken in house using this method to highlight a letter and ultimately spell out
‘MERRY CHRISTMAS’.
We had fun making it and hope you have fun over the Christmas break!
